Today's post is all about abundances: of fall's bounty, sunshine, family, play, and most of all - giving thanks.

Crafts, stickers, and pumpkins from Grandma McFarlane - thanks mom!
Our 'whole family day' was very fun, but, admittedly, the pictures never tell the whole story. There was one point on the car ride home where Ariel was having a coughing fit; Penelope was crying to be fed; and Elyse was whining loudly because...she's tired? hungry? upset that her sister's crying? she's three?!?! Dan and I looked at each other, and exchanged feigned enthusiasm (car trips are so fun, this was such a good idea - NOT), but then, as each of our exasperated looks softened, we smiled at each other, resigned to the fact that this is our new normal as a family with three small children, and despite the noise, we each silently acknowledged we have so much to be thankful for.
